Wildland Connectivity In The State Of Florida

Florida is a state rich in biodiversity and unique landscapes that often go unnoticed and underappreciated by the general public. While Florida struggles with exponential population growth and urban sprawl, we are also presented with a unique opportunity for landscape scale conservation to connect our natural areas for wildlife and people. Mr. Jensen will be highlighting the importance of land connectivity for healthy ecosystem function and wildlife pathways for all species including some of our charismatic mega fauna such as panthers and bears.

How to Prevent a Parent’s Worst Nightmare

When young children find guns, they often play with them, which can lead to death or injury of the child or others. My research focuses on teaching safety skills to children and promoting the use of the skills when it counts. This presentation will talk about what works and what doesn’t work to keep children safe from guns.

Learn about Florida’s native carnivorous plants!

Florida has dozens of native species of carnivorous plants––more than any other state in the United States. These plants use appealing scents, leaves, and sticky fluids to trap and imprison insects. Coogan’s newest book Florida’s Carnivorous Plants will be available for purchase as well as LIVE carnivorous plants to add to your home or backyard!

Your RSVP is a guarantee of admission, not of a specific seating location, and while every effort will be made to sit groups together, it cannot be guaranteed. Individual guests will be seated at venue’s discretion based on availability.
